Visitor Center Closed (Winter Holidays)

The American Gothic House Visitor Center will be closed on Tuesday, December 24th and Wednesday, December 25th for the holidays.

For visitors passing through on these days, it is still possible to visit the area around the American Gothic House and the visitor center; there is ample outdoor space for stretching and picnicking, exterior information panels, and all are still welcome to stop and snap their picture in front of the house (especially now that we have a selfie station for visitors!), just please be aware that it is B.Y.O.C. (that is, bring your own costumes!).

In the case of snow or ice, we will not be clearing our sidewalks on these days, so please exercise caution if you choose to use our parking lot or sidewalks.

Any further questions can be directed to our center, by either emailing us at theamericangothichouse@gmail.com, or calling us at (641) 652-3352. To check on other holiday closures, see our hours page, which is updated regularly.

Thank you!
