Visitor Center Closed (MLK Jr. Day and Maintenance)

The American Gothic House Visitor Center will be closed on Monday, January 20th in observance of Martin Luther King Jr. Day. We will also be closed the following day, Tuesday, January 21st, so that maintenance can be done inside our visitor center.

For visitors passing through on these days, it is still possible to visit the area around the American Gothic House and the visitor center; there is ample outdoor space for stretching and picnicking, exterior information panels, and all are still welcome to stop and snap their picture in front of the house (we even have a selfie station for your convenience!), just please be aware that it is B.Y.O.C. (that is, bring your own costumes!).

In the case of snow or ice, we will not be clearing our sidewalks on these days, so please exercise caution if you choose to use our parking lot or sidewalks.

Any further questions can be directed to our center (see our contact page for how to get in touch). To check on other closures, see our hours page, which is updated regularly.

Thank you!
